Viu picks up Relative Justice, Africa Channel takes Wild Zambezi from GRB Media Ranch

Reality court show Relative Justice

Hong Kong-based OTT platform Viu has acquired the first two seasons of arbitration-based reality court show Relative Justice (300×30’) for its subscribers in Africa.

The deal was announced by LA-headquartered distributor GRB Media Ranch (GRBMR), as part of a raft of recent sales.

Other deals included wildlife title Wild Zambezi (8×60’), which was licensed to US cablenet The Africa Channel and to South African cinema company Ster Kinekor for theatrical release.

In addition, Aby Media, the Ivory Coast-based prodco recently co-founded by industry veteran Bernard Azria and executive producer Kimberley Azria, has acquired the format rights to studio-based gameshow Blind Dating, and Khelgejo Productions has licensed the format to Untold Stories of the ER, which has been sold into more than 200 countries over the past 20 years.

Gary R Benz, CEO at GRBMR, said: “We continue to acquire programmes of broad but targeted interest, and we are especially excited about the first international format sale to Khelgejo Productions of our GRB Studios-created show Untold Stories of the ER and to see a locally produced version in Africa. As we say at GRB Media Ranch, we’ve got stories!”
